Have you seen those wonderful binders all over Pinterest and Instagram where people document their faith or walk with Jesus?
Are you wondering what they are or what they’re even called?
You feel inspired and now you’re thinking of making one but don’t know how or where to start?
On today’s post, I would like to take you along the process of my War Binder creation. Last December 2019, I bought a binder that will serve as my planner for 2020 but since things got messed up, I wasn’t able to fully use it. I saw it lying around my desk so I figured out I might as well use it. I realized it will be perfect as a Faith journal or War Binder.
First of all, what is a War Binder?
The inspiration behind War Binder came from the movie War Room. “War Room” is a special place where you can wage war against the enemies through prayers. War Binder is like the portable version of that.
You can customize it based on your needs. It is a great way to document and strengthen your faith. It can also inspire you in so many ways.
I have seen so many set-ups on Instagram and Pinterest and they’re all inspiring. Remember that there is no-one formula to do it. You know what your needs are and what you aim to accomplish so you can design it based on that.
There are two important things to consider before making a War Binder:
First, Be Clear on Your Criteria and Know Your End Goal
Figure out what medium to use. Identify what type and size of binder you want. Think about the pros and cons. I decided to go for the half-letter sized binder because I want something portable that I can easily bring anywhere.
Second, Figure Out What You Want to Be Included
Identify the categories you want to include.
Ask yourself:
What am I aiming to accomplish with this faith journal?
Then look back at your process like your daily quiet time and see the things you’re already doing and using.
Several categories you can include are:
- Prayers
- Scripture
- Gratitude
- Sermon Notes
- Journal
- Inspiration
- Answered Prayers
- Testimony
- Reflection
- Growth Areas
- Bible Study
- Affirmations
- God’s Promises
- Reference
- Photos
- Drawing
- Letters to God

This is such a fun project and hopefully this will inspire you to create your own War Binder or Faith Journal.

I love this idea and i will be working on mines some tonight and tomorrow!
Thank you Kaye,
I love list they keep me focused. When my children were born was only way to remember what I had done and what yet needed to be accomplished. Many decades later as a grandmother somedays, usually from being too tired, I forget that there are still many people to remember and things to do. So I love the creative ways you have of journaling to keep it fun for something to look forward to. Thank you much!
